As the weather starts to cool down, pants become necessary pieces in your wardrobe. This year coloured pants and statement pants are trending again and the good news is you can wear any colour your heart desires. People are often not sure of what colours suit them but you can actually wear any colour pants because your legs are covered but what you do need to be careful of is wearing a coloured top/ blouse that’s in your colour palette because the colour closer to your face and can flatter you or wash you out depending on your hair colour, eye colour and skin tone. If you’re unsure what colour palette you fall into then complete our online Style Report questionnaire.
Since I am trying to be more sustainable this year (partly to be kinder on the environment and partly to save money), I have brought out these bold magenta pants by Marni from my wardrobe that I was lucky enough to pick up at the Big Fashion Sale last year (the Big Fashion Sale is online this year in less than 4 days!!). I want to show you some ways you can style your pants to create different looks for both work and play.
Feeling bored with wearing the same black pants to work? Since you may only be going into work 1 or 2 days a week, why not amp up your look with some coloured pants. I styled my magenta pants with a white Rebecca Vallance shirt which you can easily wear on it’s on with the pants or to really make a statement add a bow. I created my own bow out of navy grosgrain ribbon from Spotlight. I also styled the look with silver flats from Nine West and silver earrings from Thomas Sabo.
Lunch with the girls
For lunch with the girls, which may be this weekend thanks to restrictions lifting and cafes and restaurants starting to open, I opted for a red silk blouse by Zoe Georgiou. I love colour blocking and I love pink/ magenta and red together as it’s a very striking combination and it makes you feel very confident. Only confident women can wear this combination right? Wrong! Anyone can wear this combination and you will be surprised by how confident it makes you feel. What I love about this blouse is you can wear it with or without the bow. You can also style this look with a beret like I have to hide my isolation regrowth. I styled this look with gold Rebecca Minkoff flats and gold earrings.
A casual look for a BBQ at your friend’s house or out for breakfast or brunch
For a casual look I styled the pants with my $2.75 white T-shirt from K-Mart and white sneakers. It’s a casual look but it’s still fun and still makes a statement with the bold pants.
