Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2018 is over for another year but let's just day it certainly didn't disappoint! Designers, models, hair and make up artists, editors, journalists, buyers, stylists, bloggers, celebrities and influencers all disseminated upon Carriageworks for the grand final of fashion in Australia.  2018 marked the third year to show Resort Wear on the International Fashion Week calander which makes a lot of sense for Australian Designers.  I feel we do resort collections well, as well as swim wear and active wear which both had their own shows on the designer list.

Every year we get excited about the designer line-up and as soon as it's released we work through it and see what are the must see shows.  As the late New York photographer always said "The best Fashion Show is defintiely on the street. Always has been and always will be" so we work out when we can fit in Street Style photos and videos.  This year the Style Doctor team wanted to focus more on the Street Style so we can not only show you what people are wearing to MBFWA but also to show you content that no one else is doing.  We also wanted to get some more backstage footage so you can see what goes on behind the scenes (BTS).

I must say our photographer and videographer, Carolin Margi @shotswithcarolin did an outstanding job of achieving this objective and we hope you enjoyed our photos and videos we've shared on Instagram facebook and YouTube.  Here are a few of our favourites below:

All the shows we saw during the week were incredible but the Camilla show which closed out Fashion Week was one of the best I have ever seen and was defintiely International Standard.  Everyone that walked into the room was blown away by the set with flowers lining the huge runway, a huge cherry blossom tree in the middle, ladies doing a traditional tea ceremony and Japanese Musical instruments being played as incsence was being burnt.  It was an explosion on the senses and a show that will stay with me for a long time.  The clothes and the prints were beautiful and she showed a diverse range of pieces on a diverse range of people.

IMG and Merceds Benz Fashion Week Australia have done a great photo summary tso you can relive the runway.  We will divulge further into the trends in another blog post and we will continue to post content from MBFWA so stay tuned!
