The 2018 Magic Millions was held on the 13th January at the Gold Coast Turf Club. It was my first time attending the Magic Millions so I didn’t really know what to expect and I was absolutely blown away by the Fashions on the Field entrants. There were so many beautiful and bold looks that were styled to perfection and the Harrolds Fashions on the Field competition was certainly very fierce.
When deciding on my look in the lead up to the Magic Millions, I was told that it’s always very colourful so I decided to wear the Rebecca Vallance Cortona midi dress in pink. I have worn this dress before and I loved it but I had never worn it to the races so I knew it would work well.
My Magic Millions look- Kash O'Hara in Rebecca Vallance dress, YSL pumps, Jane Stoddart Millinery and Mon Purse clutch.
I also had a Jane Stoddart hat which she made for me based on my inspiration from the Dior Exhibition in Melbourne last year. I wore this hat to Everest and the Myer NSW Fashions on the Field State final last year and it had some pink in it but I wanted to create a new look so I played around and ended up moving the hat around and stitching it at the back to keep it in place before I flew out to the GC.

I had my hat and dress sorted but I was tossing up on whether to do a summery pink and red shoe or to wear my YSL pumps. I decided to go with my YSL pumps because I bought them at Harrolds and Harrolds was the major sponsor on the day so I thought I should wear something from Harrolds and I also thought it tied in well with the darker navy in the hat.
My bag was by Mon Purse and I had it painted by Paige Hurvitz from @whatpagedraws in a monogrammed yellow and blue KO.
As a stylist and personal shopper I always tell my clients to make sure you get wear out of what you buy so in practicing what I preach, everything in my whole look had been worn before.
My hair and make up was done by the amazing Valentina Pintus who created the perfect hair and makeup look which tied in with my hat and dress perfectly.

When arriving at the track I met up with my racing friend Viera Macikova and we tried to stay cool by using our Harrolds fans. I also saw some other Fashions regulars including Milano Imai, Lisa March, Yvette Hardy, Kerri Carrucci and Carle Rutledge who always look incredible.

Then it was time for the Fashions on the Field heats to get underway. Women showed their best racewear looks in front of judges were Mary Poulakis from Harrolds (who I had met and interviewed at Vogue Fashion Night Out in 2015), John Calleija from Calleija jewellery and Liz Cantor from Channel 7.
I was excited to make it through to the top 10 final and was on stage with some incredible women who all looked amazing. I won a Harrolds voucher for making the top 10 and I can’t wait to go shopping in one my favourite stores!
Congratulations to the winner, Millicent van der Velde who wore her own designed dress (sewn by her Mum) and a Millinery Jill pink and red boater.

My look even made it into the Gold Coast Bulletin.
